Lodge 696 is warranted on the roll of the Grand Lodge of Ireland in the Province of Down.

The accompanying Memorial for a Warrant was laid before Lodge 144, Lodge No. 142, Lodge 377 at their stated communications held on 26th day of March 1945, 13th day of March 1945 and on the 17th day of April respectively.

 

When it was resolved that the same be recommended to the favourable consideration of Grand Lodge.

Annalong Fish Night.

The Lodges' October communication plays host to the annual "Annalong Fish Night".

 

This is a spectacular feast of seafood that is donated by the members of the Lodge. "Annalong Fish Night".

 

This event has become well renowned in the local Masonic calendar and is looked forward to with great anticipation by members and visitors alike.

2018: October
A great night at the Annalong Masonic Lodge 696 Fish Night. More than 80 Brethren enjoyed a selection of over 30 different fish dishes all supplied by local fishermen, their wives and local fish factories. Over £1800 raised for charity. Pictures of the evening can be viewed here.
 
2017: June
On Saturday 3rd June, the Widows Sons stopped at Annalong Masonic Hall during their Mourne run for fish and chips. Pictures of the event can be viewed here.

 

 
2016: September
At the October Communication of Mourne Masonic Lodge No. 696 the Lodge was honoured to have a visit from the R.W. Provincial Grand Master, R.W. Bro. Roger Matthews. The R.W. Provincial Grand Master was there to present a 50 year jewel and certificate to Bro. John Magennis. Although the Lodge was constituted in 1945, Bro. John Magennis is only the second member to formally reached this milestone in the lodge. Picturse of the event can be viewed here.
 
2016: January
The Annual Installation Communication of Mourne Masonic Lodge No. 696 took place in Annalong Masonic Hall on the 4th March. R.W.Bro. John C. Clarke, Provincial Deputy Grand Master was in attendance. The festive board was prepared by members of the Lodge and a good night was had by all. Photos of the dinner can be viewed at the Lodge website. Pictures of the evening can be viewed here.
 
2015: December
Following the stated communication held on Friday 4th December the brethren retired to the Festive Board accompanied by the Lodge widows, the entertainments committee serving the traditional Christmas dinner of turkey and ham. The evening was rounded off with singing by V.W. Bro. Bertie McClenaghan . Pictures of the evening can be viewed here.
 
2014: October
The Lodge hosted its annual "Fish Night", R.W.Bro. Roger Matthews, Provincial Deputy Grand Master was present and over £1000 was raised for charity.
 
2014: January
The Annual Installation Communication of Mourne Masonic Lodge No. 696 took place in Annalong Masonic Hall on the 7th March. R.W.Bro. Harold Henning, Provincial Assistant Grand Master was in attendance where W.Bro. P. Hill was installed as Worshipful Master. The festive board was prepared by members of the Lodge and a good night was had by all. Photos of the dinner can be viewed at the Lodge website. The treasurer reported that the totsl amount of monies raised for CHARITY was £5,500, an outstanding amount, and a credit to the Lodge. Pictures of the evening can be viewed here.
 
2013: December
Following the stated communication held on Friday 7th December the brethren retired to the Festive Board accompanied by the Lodge widows, the entertainments committee serving the traditional Christmas dinner of turkey and ham. The evening was rounded off with story telling by W. Bro. Tommy Todd. Pictures of the evening can be viewed here.
 
2013: October
The Lodge hosted its annual "Fish Night", and presented cheques to the value of £3500 to R.W.Bro. Barry Brewster for the Ovarian Cancer Research Appeal. The money was raised by the members of the Lodge in a sponsored climb and cycle.
 
2013: August
On Sunday 25th August 2013 three members of Mourne Masonic Lodge 696 Annalong, Worshipful Brothers Alfie Blakley, Stephen Fraser and Brother Kearney took part in and completed the " Lap The Lough" a 85 mile cycle roung Lough Neagh. Click here.
 
2013: JUNE
On Saturday 1st June Lodge members led by W.Bro. Glynn Hanna climbed Slieve Donard. The mountain is 2,789 ft high and the highest peak in Northern Ireland and Ulster. More to follow.
 
2013: MARCH
The Annual Installation Communication of Mourne Masonic Lodge No. 696 took place in Annalong Masonic Hall on the 1st March. R.W.Bro. Harold Henning, Provincial Assistant Grand Master was in attendance where W.Bro. R. Nicholson was installed as Worshipful Master. Lodge 696 is R.W.Bro. Harold's mother Lodge and this was his first visit to the Installation Communication as P.A.G.M. The festive board was prepared by members of the Lodge and a good night was had by all. 2012: DECEMBER: CHRISTMAS DINNER
Following the stated communication held on Friday 7th December the brethren retired to the Festive Board accompanied by the Lodge widows, the entertainments committee serving the traditional Christmas dinner of turkey and ham. 2012: OCTOBER

At the October communication the Lodge held their annual "Fish Night". Photos of the fish night can be viewed here. R.W.Bro. David Selby was welcomed on his first visit to Annalong and R.W.Bro. Harold Henning (recently invested Provincial Assistant Grand Master) was presented with a Provincial Grand Masters Neck Jewel by the members of Mourne Masonic Lodge.

Bros William Hanna and Thomas Teggarty who had recently returned from Australia were presented with their Master Mason Certificates by R.W. Bro. Selby and R.W. Bro. Henning. William and Thomas received their Master Mason Degrees while working in Western Australia.
 
2012: SEPTEMBER

At the September communication the Lodge gave a special welcome R.W.Bro. Harold Henning. This was his first visit to his mother Lodge since being invested as Provincial Assistant Grand Master in the Provincial Grand Lodge of Down.

 
2012: JUNE
On Tuesday 5th June our website received a new website award from "St Peter's Operative Lodge Of Freemasons No.284", Grand Lodge of Scotland.
On Saturday 2nd June Bros William Hanna and Thomas Teggarty attended the installation meeting of Baralaba Maonic Lodge No. 437 in Baralamba, Queensland, Australia. 2012: MAY
At the May communication of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Down V.W.Bro. Harold Henning was invested as a new Provincial Assistant Grand Master.
 
2012: APRIL
The Website received a Website award by Lodge Anima 1223, Glasgow, Scottish Constitution.
 
2012: MARCH

The Annual Installation Communication of Mourne Masonic Lodge No. 696 took place in Annalong Masonic Hall on the 2nd March. R.W.Bro. John Clarke, Provincial Assistant Grand Master was in attendance where W.Bro. S. Fraser was installed as Worshipful Master. The wonderful Festive Board was provided by W.Bro. G. Fryar and members of the entertainment committee.

 

Bros William Hanna and Thomas Teggarty attended the Installation Communication of Corona Lodge No. 318 in Wallumbilla Masonic Centre, South And West Queensland, Australia on Saturday 17th March . The brethren are featured on the "Maranoa Freemasons Website" which can be viewed by clicking here.

 
2012 : FEBRUARY

Bros William Hanna and Thomas Teggarty continue on their Australian travels with a visit to a lodge in Queensland called Maranoa Lodge, District 60 in the town of Willumbilla Queensland. This is 250 miles west of Brisbane, near a small town called Roma.

 

At the Installation Communication of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Down held on the 4th February 2012 the Provincial Grand Master announced that our very own V. W. Bro. Harold Henning would be invested as a Provincial Assistant Grand Master at the next communication of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Down. Our heartiest congratulations are offered to Harold on this worthy appointent.
       
2012 : JANUARY
Two members of Mourne Masonic Lodge on a working holiday in Perth, Western Australia were introduced to members of Southern Cross Lodge No 44 in the Grand Lodge of Western Australia. Following communication between the Grand Lodge of Western Australia and the Grand Lodge of Ireland, Bros William Hanna and Thomas Teggarty were duly raised to the sublime Degree of Master Mason. The degree was conferred by the Grand Master of Western Australia and the Grand Lodge Degree team at a special meeting of Grand Lodge of Western Australia. READ MORE.
       
2011 : DECEMBER
At the December communication the Lodge had their Christmas dinner for the Lodge widows. After dinner V.W. Bro Tommy Todd (95 years old) told stories and jokes as only he could do. This was followed by a draw were all the ladies won a prize (fixed). Congratulations to the entertainments committee who cooked the turkey dinner enjoyed by all.
       
2011 : OCTOBER
At the October communication the Lodge held their annual "fish night". This coincided with a presentation by R.W.Bro Rodney McCurley Provincial Deputy Grand Master of a 50 year Jewel and Certificate to W.Bro. Gordon Purdy . The monthly meeting also saw the launch of our new website at: www.mournemasoniclodge.co.uk
